MoCity Young Entreprenuers is a branch within The People Party LLC., which consists of a unique team of driven individuals, dedicated to encouraging and developing the Greater Houston Area's artistic community. As a representation of and example to our generation, we focus on Arts and education, demonstrating and encouraging individuals to develop their creative abilities and to follow their dreams no matter how large or small they may be. Believing we were chosen to help guide our people, we aspire to build businesses and leaders alike. Branching from our parent company, The People Party LLC., are several smaller businesses, managed and marketed by We, The People.

Our greatest mission is to inspire and encourage the youth. In efforts to secure prosperous futures for our various communities we will be hosting monthly open/mic events, at local elementary, middle, and high schools, allowing our youth an opportunity to speak their truths and express their creative talents. We believe that it is our duty to support young individuals in their artistic endeavors, enabling them to access their true selves, and propelling them to utilize their gifts and talents for a greater purpose. Our goal is to hold monthly events  that include performances from local progressive artists, motivational speakers, school supply giveaways, prizes, and opportunities for the youth to showcase their artistic abilities. We also plan to hold business plan workshops and spiritual wellness workshops to ensure that students have access to all of the tools needed to make their dreams a reality. We believe that these monthly events will motivate students to stay on track in school, further their artistic abilities, and inevitably create a positive, upbeat, and educational environment for sudents of all ages. Find out more details about the upcoming events with MoCity Young Entreprenuers on the projects page.

 a little more about you.

HISTORY

The People Party II was originally known as the  Houston Branch of the Black Panther Party in the late 1960's,Carl Hampton, former leader of th people party was dedicated to providing food, school supplies, clothing, and more to underprivileged neighborhoods in the Greater Houston Area. On July 26,1970 he was assassinated by the Houston Police Department while speaking at a a civil rights rally in downtown Houston. Over time, the battles against police brutality in the Houston Area have slowly diminished, although police brutality is still alive in each underprivileed community.

Today people of color continue to be disproportionately incarcerated, policed, and sentenced to death at significantly higher rates throughout the Houston community. Furthermore, we are victims of self-sabotage through the use of drugs, violence, and a negative outlook on life, mainly in response to the influence of the media and the arts in today's society. Dropout rates are increasing and due to cut backs in funding for public schools many schools in the Missouri city area are receiving threats of being closed

In the summer of 2012, a group of friends from the Missouri City, Texas area came together and decided that there must be a solution to ending the negativity that continues to plague our various communities. This brought about the rise of the People Party LLC., in which we would hold events to enlighten, encourage, and assist our people in fulfilling their goals and aspirations through the arts. After randomly coming across the information about the fall of the Houston chapter of the Black Panther PArty, which happened to have the same name in which we though we created, we realized it was our true purpose to continue the work of Carl Hampton by promoting education, equality, and the arts in underprivileged neighborhoods.

The disconnect and opposing forces within our society has kept us from progressing as a nation for many years. Black vs. white, gay vs. straight, rich vs. poor, and democratic vs. republic are all titles that hinder usfrom working together. The People Party LLC. believes It is essential that we began to focus on the ideas that unite us. We are all people, despite our race, gender, or preference. Furthermore, we are all spirits, created by a creator, therefore possesing those same creative abilities.

Each and every individual has a certain amount of creative abilities within them, whether it is a singing ability, painting, or the intelligence to become a doctor. When we are exposed to these gifts and take responsibility in developing them, we are led to higher levels of consciuosness and essentially become happier and healthier human beings. The arts are extremely important to the development of our communities and to our evolutions as humans.  By exposing the youth to these concepts at younger ages we hope to create future leaders who are fearless in chasing their dreams and fulfilling their goals. We also hope to create opportunities to network with local professionals , training for those wo cannot afford to attend specialized arts schools, as well as positive environments that will aid in securing bright futures for our youth while keeping them out of the streets.
